ACTIVE RECREATION WITH LONG-TERM EFFECT
Gently rising, our holiday region stretches from the sunny village of Finkenberg at the entrance to the imposing Hintertux Glacier at the end of the Tux Valley. In between the small villages of Tux-Vorderlanersbach, Tux-Lanersbach, Juns, Madseit and Hintertux can be found, which exude the typical flair of small Tyrolean mountain villages.
The Tuxertal Guides offer guided bike & hike tours, hiking tours, and active days combining skiing and hiking. Have a look at the homepage.
SUMMERTIME - FAMILY TIME
In the Luis' Glacier Bug Park at 3,250 m, the highest playground in Europe, there is guaranteed to be no time for boredom, whether during a round of snow tyre carousels or during a snowball fight - and that in the middle of summer. Luis' Glacier Bug Ball Safari in the Sommerbergalm hiking area on the Hintertux glacier is the latest attraction: exciting wooden ball tracks with numerous obstacles provide variety. To let off steam on the mountain, the "Almspielerei" an alpine playground on the Eggalm with water pond, pulling boat and raft provides refreshment. In Pepis Kinderland, the 8 m tall giant bear Pepi and a low rope course invite you to play and climb.
A SEA OF MOUNTAINS
Immerse yourself in the magnificent mountains of the Tuxertal valley and be delighted by the variety of possibilities! One feels freedom when you stand at the summit and for a short moment perceives only this present moment. In summer, this is easy to achieve in Tux-Finkenberg: the ideal altitude makes it easy to access the over more than 350 km of marked hiking trails and 120 km of mountain bike routes. Whether a leisurely hiking tour to one of the mountain inns or huts, a challenging mountain tour or Bike & Hike, everything can be arranged individually.
MAGIC WORLD OF ICE & SPECIAL NATURAL GEMS
At the Hintertux Glacier, Austria's only all-year-round ski area, skiers and snowboarders can also enjoy up to 20 km of prepared slopes during the summer months. The Nature's Ice Palace at the Hintertux Glacier enchants visitors. Besides frozen waterfalls and glittering ice stalactites, a sparkling glacial lake and the glacier cathedral can be admired. The largest rock cave in the Central Alps, the Spannagel Cave, is located at the foot of the glacier tongue and is another natural experience not to be missed. The breath-taking view of the perpetual ice and the surrounding mountain peaks from the panorama terrace at 3,250 m is even accessible to families with prams and wheelchairs and can be reached barrier-free from the underground car park of the valley station.
